Stephen Brassington is rightly regarded as one of the leading juniors in the field of Professional Discipline. It has been said of him that he "has knowledge, drafting and presentational skills that are second to none at this level" (Chambers & Partners Guide 2009). He is also cited as a leading junior in this field by The Legal 500.
For a number of years, Stephen was regularly instructed by the General Medical Council to present complex and lengthy cases before its disciplinary committees, and in the High Court. He was said to be much in demand at the GMC due to his "commendably thorough approach and confident style" (Chambers and Partners 2009).
Stephen is now regularly instructed by defence organisations to represent professionals whose fitness to practise has been called into question, defending before the GMC, the General Dental Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council, amongst others. He is described as "a natural advocate, who will go the extra mile to provide a good service to his client" (Chambers and Partners 2010).
He also undertakes work on behalf of Healthcare Regulators such as the Health Professions Council, the General Social Care Council and General Optical Council and appears in Coroners' Inquests.
